I have been back and forth in wanting to get it. It looks cinematic and it is a new hyped game, but reviews at this point where people are putting in 100+ hours into the game are starting to come out where the biggest complaint is that exploration hits a wall pretty early on with environments being copied and pasted. That it seems like the game doesn't have a soul outside of looking pretty, which seems like a big disappointment considering that Bethesda worked on this for a decade instead of Elder Scrolls 6.
For anyone that has played the game, is it worth the $70 price tag?

"Too often, we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." - JFK
"First Thoughts are the everyday thoughts. Everyone has those. Second Thoughts are the thoughts you think about the way you think. People who enjoy thinking have those. Third Thoughts are thoughts that watch the world and think all by themselves. They’re rare, and often troublesome."
I think it's fun, but despite being "their most polished release ever" there is still a lot of Bethesda jank. The sense of exploration is definitely lost from Elder Scrolls and Fallout. It sounds counterintuitive but having an entire galaxy to explore limits the exploration. You either go to a heavily curated zone or one of the million planets that have a random chance to have one of the 10 random caves. Outposts serve no purpose other than to make money and earn xp... and you'll probably need a complicated outpost to hit max level because combat and quests would be too slow so that's a negative. You can easily earn unlimited money even from your first outpost but you're stuck selling 300,000 credits to vendors who only have 5-10,000 to spend. So you need to find a bench and rest(for like a minute each time) to actually receive that small amount.
Despite all the negativity I think it's fun and I stuck around enough that I'm in a NG+ round. I would just prefer Fallout 5 with this combat system.
go in blind, legitimately the best game of all time and does far more than what Starfield ever wanted to do in just one solar system with hand crafted planets
